BSc(Med)(Hons)Sports Science (Post-graduate degree from University of Cape Town)

Level 2 National Coaching certificate (Middle and long distance) (South Africa)

 

c) Previous Achievements (as a coach and an athlete):

Coach: 
 
1980 - Present

- Various club and school coaching in South Africa and New Zealand
- Coached various national and provincial athletes in South Africa and New Zealand

1981-1985

- Athletics and cross country coach, Cambridge High School, East London, South Africa
- Attended and lectured on numerous coaching courses and symposia

1988-1990 

- Head of Athletics, SACS (boys high school), Cape Town, South Africa.
- The cross-country teams of both schools became champions whilst Chris coached them

1991-1994

- Various coaching clinics in poor communities, Western Province, South Africa
- University of Cape Town coach for long and middle distance
- Awarded Life Membership of University of Cape Town Athletics Club.

800m:  1:46.9
1500m:  3:42
Women's marathon: 2hrs 37mins

Many athletes with personal best performances in all events
 and age groups, juniors to masters.

d) Pre-requisites for athlete (training base, ability, etc):

Motivated and enthusiastic athlete is the only pre-requisite.
 

e) Other stuff:

Works as a physiotherapist in private practice with special interest in recurrent and acute injuries.
